Asbestos Removal Service

In the last century, asbestos was considered a miracle material and cheap. Unfortunately, the health risks did not appear until a few years later. At present, there is still regular asbestos in some buildings or products. Do you want to protect yourself from this danger? This post tells you what you need to know about asbestos and gives you some tips for asbestos removal safely.

Definition of Asbestos

Asbestos is a natural product made of fine microscopic fibers. Over the time, we have learned that this material has serious health risks and it is the cause of respiratory problems, or even certain lung cancers. This is the reason why asbestos has been banned since 1998. Yet, it is still present in all kinds of products and constructions.
Asbestos is still a part of more than 3,500 products. You will still find this material in large quantities mainly in buildings and building materials. Therefore, whether you are a worker, electrician or erector, there is a good chance that you will be working in the presence of asbestos.

Types of Asbestos

There are six types of asbestos: white, blue, brown, yellow, gray and green. However, after the treatment, these varieties are no longer distinguishable from each other. That is why it is better to distinguish on the basis of the following elements:

Non – Friable Asbestos Fibers: These fibers adhere to another material, such as cement in most cases. Corrugated sheets, wall panels and sewer pipes, gas, and water are all known examples where asbestos fibers are found.

Friable Asbestos Fibers: These fibers do not adhere to any other material. As a result, the risk of these asbestos fibers being released into the air is significantly higher. Therefore, these fibers must always be covered or removed. Such fibers come in the composition of vinyl sails, insulation boards and flocked asbestos

Asbestos Removal Method

The probability of being in the presence of asbestos is higher in some professional contexts. If you participate directly or indirectly in the demolition, transformation or renovation of buildings, do perform the following steps:

•    Have asbestos inventoried by an authorized asbestos removal service company? The latter
must be approved by the Minister of Labor.

•    Determine whether or not to proceed with asbestos removal.

•    Post a demolition notice or ask for a permit.

•    Identify the asbestos removal service company to which you will entrust the removal of asbestos. In the case of friable asbestos fibers or particularly degraded asbestos products, only an approved asbestos removal service company may do this.

Hence, the asbestos removal service company - Axiom Environmental Solutions has embarked on this venture. The company believes that as the general public is getting aware of the importance of this issue and the resulting environmental impact, it is important for us to make our contribution.
